I recently met Chelsea Andersen to celebrate her completing all her ACCA exams. I wanted her to feel special so was determined to mark this achievement.
Chelsea had to deal with mobility issues when she was growing up so resolved to make herself stronger.
When you first decide to change, your efforts feel useless. Nothing changes -in fact, things appear worse than at the start.
This is why 90% of people stop and go back to their old habits.
What about the 10% that continue? Well, soon they develop new habits such as keeping fit or studying. Going to the gym becomes less painful as your muscles adapt and become stronger. Studying is easier as you begin to understand the concepts and interrelate the new ideas to what you already know.
A few years later, like ‘strong girl’ Chelsea, you look back and find you have achieved something remarkable. Chelsea is stronger than most people I know (especially myself) and is a Qualified Chartered Accountant.
Her future is bright and next year, she is planning to do the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru. This is truly a magical place, and I will never forget the experience. I could not be more proud of her.
If you are planning on doing Taxation or Advanced Tax in March 2023, I recommend you purchase Tax Condensed or Advanced Tax Condensed (like Chelsea) which will allow you to learn the technical rules at lightning speed.
